About Robert Deane
A native of New York City and an attendee of New York University Film School, I got my start in the entertainment industry at the world-famous Apollo Theater where I cut my teeth working on Showtime at the Apollo. From there I moved on to Music Videos where I learned valuable techniques in video production working with famous directors like Hype Williams and Marcus Raboy. My journey continued to NBC where I worked on Saturday Night Live (SNL), The Today Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
My directing career began in earnest in 2010 when I was afforded the opportunity to direct my first music video in Los Angeles. Several pilots and music videos later I started to direct multi-cam sitcoms. My path to the director’s chair has been supported by a vision, a drive and a passion for story, no matter the medium. This, along with my New York-born ability to work with diverse collaborators from all walks of life, has me poised to continue making my mark on the industry for many years to come.
